Abstract- Exploring the impact of online crime victimization

The aim of this work is exploring the impact of online crime victimization in the UK, victims’ needs and the responsibilities of the police, the judiciary and other authorities in dealing with such crimes. In order to explore this topic, the following methods will be followed: Conduct focus groups to identify the current landscape of online crime victimization in the UK and the capacity of law enforcement and judiciary to handle such cases Explore the victim’s perspective The potential impact of this work can be of a national or international scale: Identifying the gaps at a policy level developed for traditional offline offenses to meet the needs of victims of online crimes Setting guidelines for training law enforcement and judiciary Identify the best methods for collecting and sharing data for such research.
