Cyberattacks pose an increasing global threat to personal, commercial and governmental information and operations. Governments are responding by protecting their IT systems, strengthening critical infrastructure, and helping the private sector and civil society navigate this complex challenge.

To support Latin American and Caribbean governments to strengthen their cybersecurity initiatives, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is offering a comprehensive executive course on National Cybersecurity Management for the region’s cybersecurity managers and specialists in the public-sector, in collaboration with the National Cyber Directorate of Israel and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

This intensive two-week course will present an integral perspective and provide a range of tools to be applied by participants upon completion of the training. Classes will be delivered by leading experts from the Israeli government, research universities, and cybersecurity industry. Field tours will illustrate how national-level cybersecurity initiatives work in practice.

Course topics will include:

  • National cybersecurity strategies
  • Operating a Security Operations Center (SOC) and a National Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT)
  • Protecting critical infrastructure
  • Training cybersecurity professionals
  • The public-private-academic eco-system
  • Issues in IT security and cyber forensics
  • The legal framework, and more

Target audience: Cybersecurity managers, policy makers and chief engineers from Latin American and Caribbean national or subnational governments, responsible for the design and implementation of cybersecurity policies and initiatives.
